UPCOMING CLINICS & EVENTS CALENDAR
Paddle Tennis
Platform Tennis, known simply as "Paddle," is the club's winter answer to tennis. It's played on a smaller, elevated court, with wire fencing that keeps the ball alive off the walls, and doubles play that rewards patience as much as power.
The program has doubled in size since 2010. Today it includes four Men's teams, four Women's teams, a growing Junior program, and a social scene built around the Paddle Lounge, four courts, and a warming hut that stays busy all winter. Thanks to heated courts and lights for night play, Paddle at PCC runs well beyond the cold months.
Introductory clinics begin each September. Contact us to get started this fall.
Guest Fee - $15
dress code
Dress in layers. Fleece, sweatshirts, vests, sweatpants, or shorts all work, since body temperature rises quickly on the court. White is not required. A hat and thin gloves help on the coldest days, and older tennis shoes are ideal for the court's slightly abrasive surface.
Squash
PCC's Squash Building is one of the premier venues of its kind in the region: three international singles courts, two North American doubles courts, a racquets shop, and space built for both play and watching. In 2013 and 2015, it hosted the U.S. Open Doubles Championships.
The history runs deeper still. Philadelphia is the birthplace of doubles squash, and PCC has hosted the National Squash Racquets Doubles tournament four times, from 1936 to 1938 and again in 2015.
The squash program welcomes players of every age and level, led by our Head Squash Pro. Reach out to John to get started.
